Dr. Christine Chan, DC, Chiropractor

Dr. Christine Chan is happy to be a chiropractor in Richmond Hill and she brings an athlete’s mindset to clinical care.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Dr. Chan grew up playing competitive sports and continues to compete in basketball today. Her personal experience with training, injury, and recovery gives her a practical understanding of both the physical and mental challenges that come with being sidelined due to sports injury.

She knows how frustrating it can be when pain interferes with performance, or simply with daily life.

At the same time, she is equally passionate about helping individuals who are new to exercise or returning after time away. Her goal is to create a supportive environment where patients feel confident progressing at their own pace.

Education and Professional Training

Dr. Chan graduated summa cum laude from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree.

She also holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from University of Waterloo.

Her academic background in biomechanics, anatomy, and rehabilitation supports a thoughtful and evidence-based approach to patient care.

  • Active rehabilitation exercises
  • Acupuncture
  • Functional movement retraining
  • Ergonomic and posture education
  • Injury prevention strategies

Rather than relying on passive treatment alone, Dr. Chan emphasizes active recovery , helping you build strength, stability, and resilience so you can stay well long after your pain improves.

Frequently Asked Questions

I don’t have any spinal pain, can I still see chiropractors for my leg/arm (extremities) pain?

Of course! Chiropractors are not only experts in spine, but we also treat musculoskeletal conditions.

Do I need to get x-ray done first before seeing a chiropractor?

Usually no, you do not need X-ray before seeing a chiropractor. However, if the chiropractor suspects anything more sinister during initial assessment, which may be contraindicated to receive chiropractic treatment, then we would need to refer patients out for advanced images before proceeding to treatments.

Life Outside the Clinic

Outside of practice, Dr. Chan enjoys:

  • Competitive basketball
  • Hiking and outdoor exploration
  • Solo travel
  • Discovering new restaurants and local communities

Her passion for movement and community reflects her clinical philosophy: helping people stay active, engaged, and confident in their bodies.
