Education and Professional Training

Before becoming a chiropractor, Dr. Jason worked as a Registered Kinesiologist in a multidisciplinary rehabilitation clinic helping patients recover from motor vehicle accidents and musculoskeletal injuries. That experience deeply shaped his philosophy around long-term recovery, movement quality, and active rehabilitation.

He earned his Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology Co-op from the University of Waterloo before completing his Doctor of Chiropractic degree with honours from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC).

Today, he combines chiropractic care, functional acupuncture, soft tissue therapy, and rehabilitation strategies to help patients move better, feel stronger, and return to the activities that matter most to them.

Dr. Jason proudly provides care in both English and Cantonese.

Dr. Jason’s Approach to Care

Dr. Jason believes recovery should support the body long term, not just temporarily reduce symptoms.

Rather than relying on quick fixes or passive care alone, he focuses on helping patients build better movement habits, improve conditioning, and better understand how their bodies function over time. His approach is rooted in evidence-based care, active listening, and sustainable progress.

Patients often describe him as attentive, approachable, and easy to talk to. He genuinely enjoys learning about people’s daily lives, work, routines, hobbies, and personal goals because he believes those details matter when creating meaningful, effective care.

Whether someone is recovering from a sports injury, managing recurring tension from desk work, or trying to stay active as they age, Dr. Jason aims to help patients feel more confident, capable, and resilient in everyday life.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a chiropractic adjustment and what does it do?

A spinal adjustment (also called spinal manipulation) is a controlled force applied to a joint that is not moving normally. The adjustment helps improve how the joint moves, reduces pain, and decreases muscle tension, allowing you to move more comfortably.

What causes the popping sound from an adjustment?

The sound that is commonly heard during an adjustment is called a joint cavitation. When a joint is stretched, pressure inside the joint changes, causing dissolved gases to rapidly form a bubble, creating the popping sound. It is important to note that a successful adjustment does not require a popping sound and many patients can improve when no sound occurs.

Can chiropractic care improve posture?

Adjustments and soft tissue therapy (manual muscle release) may temporarily improve mobility and comfort, making it easier to maintain better posture but are unlikely to permanently change posture. Long-term posture improvements require:

  • Strengthening and mobility exercises
  • Ergonomic changes
  • Habit modification

How does acupuncture work and does it hurt?

Acupuncture decreases muscle tension and trigger points, decreases pain, stimulates nerves in the skin and muscles, and increases local blood flow.

Most people rarely experience pain with acupuncture. Acupuncture needles are extremely thin, roughly 17x thinner than vaccination needles. You may feel a brief pinch during insertion, a dull ache, warmth, tingling, or heaviness after insertion. These sensations are normal and indicate stimulation of the target tissue.

Can chiropractic care help headaches?

Chiropractic treatment can reduce symptoms of cervicogenic (neck-related) headaches and tension headaches. Treatment often includes soft tissue therapy (manual muscle release), exercises, and neck adjustments or mobilization.

Outside the Clinic

Outside the clinic, Dr. Jason enjoys staying active through golf, volleyball, pickleball, tennis, and strength training. His personal interest in movement and conditioning gives him firsthand understanding of the frustrations many patients experience when pain or injuries begin interfering with daily life and the activities they enjoy.

He takes a holistic and sustainable approach to health, believing long-term wellness is built through consistency, movement quality, recovery, and habits that realistically fit into everyday life.

Outside of fitness and sports, he enjoys reading, trying new recipes, and continuing to learn through ongoing education and evidence-based research, reflecting his belief that growth and learning never stops.
